Impact

We monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our provision in a variety of ways.

Gender Equality:

All sessions are open to both girls and boys; however, to increase female participation we also provide dedicated girls’ classes with additional safeguarding measures.

Attendance:

We have an incentive scheme to encourage regular attendance; this works in tandem with a dialogue to identify and resolve barriers to attendance.

Sporting Progress:

Students’ physiological, tactical, technical and psychological development is measured and tracked over time.

Academic Progress:

We expect all students to make progress in all aspects of the curriculum. Progress is measured within a lesson (by engagement, outcome, intervention and self-evaluation) and over time (against the Future English Proficiency Scale – available on request).

Social and Emotional Development:
Competencies include self-management; self-awareness; social awareness; responsible decision-making; and relationship skills. Students’ development in these areas is measured and tracked over time using teacher observation, student feedback and parental input.

Our Long-Term Impact:

The impact of our provision is an improvement in literacy skills, numeracy and general knowledge; enhanced communication and social skills; improved self-esteem, self-reliance and the capacity to self-advocate; increased confidence, emotional well-being and resilience. The longer-term impact will be increased employment opportunities enabling students to participate fully in society.

Our students live challenging, chaotic lives; their progress depends on prior attainment, attendance and personal circumstances. Intervention strategies are implemented for any student needing additional support or provision.

Challenges go together with working in a refugee camp, in a country going through the worst economic crisis in its history. 80% of the population in Lebanon now lives below the poverty line, with refugees at the margins of society.

We are flexible and can adapt quickly to changing circumstances; we use both success and failure to develop our provision, ensuring that equity in the classroom becomes a reality rather than a dream.
